I am really pleased with this large globe, especially the way the political map when unlit is transformed to a physical map once lit - I leave my curtains open at night so passers-by can see it! Just one negative point is that, when illuminated, the overlap between the component gores appears as a dark line perhaps 2mm across. Would look much better without this but I presume this overlap is necessary for small errors in the production process.

This was a 50th birthday present and my partner is delighted with it. The difference in what shows when it is lit and not is fascinating. Also when lit it has a beautiful soft glow and looks great as a light source in the lounge.

Very nice. It would be good to be able to choose between gloss and matt finish.
