Physical maps show the surface of the earth or a specific area.
For this purpose Klett-Perthes wall maps employ the traditional color scheme which runs from green (lowlands) via yellow and light brown to dark brown (high-mountain areas).
Differences in altitude are shown through shading. A wonderful 4 to 13 color layered imaging allows the cartography to show these physical maps on a flat surface to look as they are a raised relief map. Klett-Perthes is the only map company that can perform this kind of imaging.
